MADISON, Ill. – Gateway International Raceway is announcing individual tickets for the O’Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals, the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250, and the Camping World 200, will be available to the public Monday, Jan. 12.
The national event schedule kicks off May 1-3 with the return of the NHRA Full Throttle Series to the St. Louis area. Newly-betrothed Ashley Force comes to Gateway looking to follow in her legendary father's footsteps by earning a Wally in the shadow of the Gateway Arch. Reigning Funny Car winner and Springfield, Ill.-native Tim Wilkerson looks to pick up where he left off in 2008 while Tony Schumacher will try to avenge his finals loss in 2008 here on a quest to win his sixth consecutive Top Fuel title and his seventh overall.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series will make its annual visit to GIR on July 18 for the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 as reigning race winner Carl Edwards looks to win again under the lights. Edwards is expected to race against a field that includes fellow Sprint Cup Series stars as well as the champions of tomorrow, such as Brad Coleman, Landon Cassill, and 2008’s Most Popular Driver, Brad Keselowski.
Finally, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series makes its inaugural trip to the 1.25-mile oval under the Camping World banner on Sept. 12 with veterans Ron Hornaday and Johnny Benson and up-and-comers Colin Braun, Ricky Carmichael, and St. Louis native Chrissy Wallace scheduled to be in the lineup. Last year's event saw Ron Hornaday dominate the event for the win and considering the racers coming to GIR this year, the action will be even more intense.
